Hello my friends. I’m writing on my official first day of full time ministry at Locust Lane. Actually, tomorrow (Wednesday) is the official day, but I just had to get going. I’m looking forward to some of the additions to my schedule that I can now afford. And before I list a few, I wanted to thank you for allowing me to serve you in this way. I love ministry and know my calling, and it’s always a privilege to have a such a wonderful community to serve. I’m looking forward to…
- Pressing palms. I’m looking forward to getting out there and meeting you face to face, in your homes, where you live. I hope to know you well, so that when the times of crisis and ministry come, it can be as personal as possible.
- Building connections. I look forward to using some technology, including the website, the blog, facebook, podcasts, etc. to help keep us connected between gatherings. Also, this will enable us to keep connected with our missionaries and friends around the world. It’s a small world after all.
- Knowing our community. I look forward to connecting with area pastors and ministries so we can allow God to work with all of us together to take His message to our world.
- Studying the Word and our World. One thing a pastor has to do to be a good leader is to spend time in the Word and to know our world. I look forward to spending lots of time in my books and “the Book.”

Well we’re excited to have you full-time and we know you’ll be fantastic! I am personally enjoying the between-Sunday-communication via the church website, this blog, facebook, etc. Props to you and your fresh ideas.

Hey Dave,
Welcome to full time ministry! Now that we’ve suckered you into that I’ll start thinking of things to keep you busy. LOL. No kidding, you’re the best thing that has happened to us in a long time. Keep up the good work and know that I, for one, am behind you all the way. Let me know when or where I can be of help.
Peace,
Sally
